What a fantastic night at the "Evening With Champions" event. John Campbell from KCRG TV-9 was the Emcee. The show started with Kurt Warner speaking for 45 mins about being a champion. It was one of the most encouraging and inspiring talks I've heard in a long time. Next up was a sit down interview with Zach Johnson and Kurt led by John Campbell. It was so hilarious and convicting at the same time. These guys are unashamed of their relationship w/ Jesus Christ and told how it is the only factor that has led them to ultimate success. They testified to great trials and wonderful achievements, but nothing was more precious to them than their faith in God. Everyone was challenged.
Please check out Kurt Warner's foundation at www.kurtwarner.org. They're doing some wonderful things.
I'm sorry to report that even though I was with Kurt's immediate family most of the night he was so busy with corporate sponsors and others he didn't have a chance to come out and meet with us. So, no picture of Kurt and I to post...HOWEVER, I believe I have something better to share with you. Our group went to Perkins afterwards. During our meal a big storm came through and the restaurant made us seek shelter in the back of the kitchen. Since it was a crowded mess of hot stoves and dirty floors, I went to the staff and said, hey, how about some muffins for everybody. Two minutes later Perkins gave me a huge plate full of muffins that I walked back to the kitchen and gave to all the guests. Two minutes after that a plate full of cookies and 5 mins after that three full appetizer plates. WHOO HOO!
Here is a shot of me and the guests in the kitchen at Perkins.....what a trip!!!
